  1. The fairy tale Annemarie remembered was Little Red Riding Hood. Annemarie remembered this story because she was thinking of a story she told Kirsti before they went to bed. Annemarie also probably remembered this story because she might of been thinking of Kirsti and how scared she would of been if she also realized that Mama hadn’t returned. The story Annemarie is telling herself relates to what is happening in the story because Annemarie has to bring Uncle Henrik the packet and Little Red Riding Hood has to bring her grandmother some treats. The story also relates to the story Annemarie is telling herself because the soldiers are kind of like the wolf. The soldiers are like the wolf because the wolf stops Little Red Riding Hood and the soldiers stop Annemarie. The soldiers and the wolf are also alike because they are both the bad guys in the story.

    2. I thought Annemarie was drawing similarities between her journey through the woods and the story of Little Red Riding Hood, the danger being the soldiers with their dogs. It must have helped keep her mind off the dangers that may lurk ahead. She was a very brave girl.

  2. On the way to the boat Annemarie remembered the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood.
Annemarie chose this fairy tale because it reminds her of herself. Traveling through the dark woods hoping not to be stopped by wolves, holding a basket, with your stylish cloak on. Little Red Riding Hood was very brave traveling through those woods to get to her Grandma and Annemarie is brave getting the packet to Uncle Henrik.
This relates to what’s happening in the story because Little Red Riding Hood is traveling through the woods in a cloak with a basket for her sick Grandmother. Annemarie is in a cloak going through the woods with a basket to give to her Uncle. I think that Annemarie is inspired by Little Red Riding Hood because she had no fear and made it to the cottage, Annemarie has that she just has to show it so that Uncle Henrik’s theory to her being able to be brave, is true.

    2. I agree that Annemarie is being brave and going to give the packet to Uncle Henrik. Do you think that Annemarie being brave and going to the boat by herself relates to when Uncle Henrik and Annemarie where in the barn and Uncle Henrik said that Annemarie was very brave but she didn't agree? Great specific post!!!! :) :) :) :)

  3. The fairy tale Annemarie was telling herself while going through the woods is Little Red Riding Hood. Annemarie chose this fairy tale because it was kind of her disguise story and it brought back happy memories. How it relates to what is happening is Annemarie is taking food to her uncle where Red was taking food to her grandma. Annemarie was stopped by the soldiers and Red was stopped by the big bad wolf. The soldiers take the food but never eat it same with the big bad wolf. Both the soldiers and the big bad wolf are horrible people and animals. Both Red and Annemarie are afraid of the big things in their stories. As you can see these two stories are very alike in so many ways.

  4. The fairy tale Annemarie remembered on the way to her uncle’s boat is the story Little Red Riding Hood. Annemarie chose this fairy tale because when Annemarie was telling this story to Kristi she could remind herself of what happened in the story, like when Riding Hood ran into the Big Bad Wolf, she could know what to do if she ran into the soldiers, because they are both alike. This relates to the story because walking through the dark woods with a basket to her grandma's house and running into a wolf, and Annemarie walking in the woods carrying the packet on the way to Uncle Henrik's boat, and running into the soldiers relate.
